My Selection Of Retro Accents That Never Go Out Of Style: a Mix of Vintage and New

Retro style in interior design is a rich source of inspiration. This can be found in influences from the beginning of the 20th century like Art Nouveau and Art deco and in mid-century styles, mainly from the 50s and 60s. Retro accents in particular help create inspiring interiors and provide us with a chance to express our own individuality.

Whether you are a pro at finding gems in flea markets or, like myself, tend to lean towards new things, choice is plentiful and caters to different tastes and preferences. I personally like a mix of both concepts: the sleek of the new and the charm of the old. Live in the present and honor the past. Plus, when beautifully restored, vintage furniture can complement any modern interior style. (In my last post, you can see how Parisians skilfully introduce retro touches to their homes).

Below, I have selected items that I personally would have chosen for my home. They help inject charm, style and color. I think that a pop of color is needed. After all, these retro items are meant to be noticed.
